Building the First Version of Pulse: From Manual Reports to a Living Dashboard

Every business has a heartbeat and for us, it started with spreadsheets.

Before Pulse Reviews became a platform, it was a series of manual reports. We’d spend hours pulling data from Google, Trustpilot, Facebook, TripAdvisor, and countless other review sites. For businesses with multiple branches, that task multiplied fast. Each location had its own set of reviews, its own story to tell, but no easy way to see the bigger picture.

We were stitching together screenshots, exporting CSVs, and calculating averages just to understand one simple thing: how do customers really feel about this business?

It was messy, time-consuming, and far from scalable but it revealed something crucial. Businesses weren’t struggling because they didn’t care about reviews. They were struggling because the process was fragmented and frustrating.

One View, One Pulse

That’s what led to the first version of Pulse. We didn’t set out to build the most complex review platform, we just wanted to bring everything together in one clear, living dashboard.

Our goal was simple: take all those scattered reviews across different sites and branches, and turn them into something unified, something that actually made sense.

The early prototype wasn’t glamorous. It was raw and functional, built to prove one thing: that seeing all your reviews and reputation data in one place could change how you understand your business.

And it did!

When people saw their reviews side by side, they started to see patterns. They noticed which branches were thriving, which needed attention, and where customer sentiment was shifting. Suddenly, what used to be a mess of tabs and exports became clarity.

From Reports to Rhythm

As we built and refined Pulse, the manual reports that once took hours evolved into the Pulse Score - a clear, data-driven view of your reputation across different review platforms and every location.

The Pulse Score doesn’t just show where you are, it helps you see where you could be. It highlights strengths, uncovers blind spots, and offers actionable insights that lead to real improvement.

That’s the heart of what we’re building: a tool that turns feedback into forward motion. A way for businesses to keep their finger on the rhythm of their reputation, and act on it.

Because when you can finally see the full picture, your business doesn’t just run... it beats.
